Tahitian Pearl Bracelets

A short strand of dark pearls on the wrist, where you can actually watch the overtone move. Each bracelet is matched from loose Tahitians and strung to order on silk with a solid gold clasp and safety catch. No two are the same, which is why each one carries its own measured size range.

Choosing a Tahitian bracelet

Four things decide how a bracelet wears and what it costs.

Shape

Round costs the most. Baroque and drop cost less, run larger, and throw more light as the wrist moves. On a bracelet that movement happens all day, which is the best argument for baroque anywhere on this site.

Size

Commonly 9 to 12 mm, sometimes larger. Each bracelet carries its own measured range because these are genuine pearls matched individually, not a stock size. Big pearls read bigger on a wrist than on a neck.

Clasp

Chosen on the product page, in solid gold with a safety catch. On a bracelet the clasp is visible in a way it never is on a necklace, and people who wear one daily often turn it to the front.

Length

Strung to order. A bracelet should turn on the wrist without sliding over the hand. If you are between sizes, measure the wrist and add half an inch, and tell us if you want it looser.

Before you buy

Is the dark color natural?

Yes. The black-lipped oyster lays the dark color down itself, so the body color and the overtone both belong to the pearl. Nothing here is dyed, tinted or irradiated.

What length should I order?

Measure the wrist and add about half an inch. That gives you a bracelet that turns freely without slipping over the hand. Every bracelet is strung to order, so if you need something outside the listed range, ask us before you order and we will tell you what the pearls allow.

Why is every size range different?

Because every bracelet is different. These are genuine pearls graded and matched individually, so we measure the actual piece and publish that range rather than rounding it into a category. It is the honest way to list them.

Will a Tahitian bracelet take daily wear?

Better than most pearls, because Tahitians carry thick nacre. That said, a wrist takes more knocks than a neck. Put it on last, after lotion and perfume, take it off before washing up, and wipe it with a soft damp cloth now and then. Never put it in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Can you match this to a strand or earrings I am buying?

We already do. If you order a bracelet at the same time as a necklace, earrings or a pendant, we match the pearls to each other before anything is strung or set. You do not have to ask and there is no charge for it. On Tahitian this matters more than on any other pearl, because matching overtone across separate orders is close to impossible.

Still deciding?

Our specialists will show you pearls on camera and talk you through what you are looking at. Most appointments run about twenty minutes.
