White South Sea Necklaces

White South Sea pearls grow in the silver-lipped Pinctada maxima, the largest pearl-producing mollusk in the world. A strand takes years to assemble, because one fine pearl is rare and thirty or more matched in size, shape, luster and overtone is rarer still.

Every necklace here is a single piece, photographed on its own. What you see is the strand that ships. Sizes run from about 8 mm to over 20 mm, in round, semi-baroque and baroque.
