This long Fijian keshi pearl necklace features naturally formed pearls measuring 9.0–12.2 mm, strung to a finished length of approximately 28 inches. Keshi pearls form without a bead nucleus, resulting in organic shapes and a distinctive character that differs markedly from round cultured pearls. Each pearl contributes to a fluid, expressive strand with natural variation and movement.
The pearls display a refined palette ranging from white to silver, with subtle hints of soft gold visible throughout the strand. Their irregular forms and high luster give the necklace a relaxed elegance, allowing light to play across the surfaces in a way that feels both luminous and natural.
The strand is finished with an 18k yellow gold orbit clasp, which complements the warmth in the pearls while providing a modern and functional closure. The longer length allows the necklace to be worn as a single strand or doubled, offering versatility in styling.
These keshi pearls were produced by J. Hunter Pearl Farm in Fiji, a small boutique farm with an annual production of approximately 25,000 pearls across all types. Assael has held an exclusive relationship with the farm since 2019 and has been the only company in the United States to offer these exceptional pearls, known for their natural color and character.
This necklace is part of the Assael collection now held in our Los Angeles vault and made available at a level of value that has not previously existed in the company’s 80-year history.
