This strand
Bold, luminous, and naturally one-of-a-kind, this 7.5-8.0 mm silver-blue baroque akoya pearl necklace offers a refined twist on tradition. With their distinctive color and organic shapes, these pearls are a rare and beautiful accident of nature.
Grown in the cold waters of Japan, these pearls form their silvery blue hue when trace proteins become trapped between the nacre and nucleus during development. The resulting color is completely natural and permanent, with soft overtones and an ethereal glow that shifts in the light.
Each necklace is composed of baroque pearls with their own unique silhouettes, selected for harmonious balance, color, and luster. Offered in 16- and 18-inch lengths, every strand is individually knotted on twin silk in our Los Angeles studio and finished with a solid 14 karat white gold clasp and safety hook for beauty and security.
This size offers a bit more presence while still retaining the delicacy akoya pearls are loved for. Because these pearls form by chance, they are exceedingly rare—we are only able to offer them in limited quantities when we can collect enough to create a well-matched strand.
For those seeking something extraordinary and entirely natural, this necklace is a quiet statement of individuality, refinement, and the ocean’s most beautiful surprises.
Before you decide
The pearls are here in our Los Angeles office. Before you buy anything, we will photograph the exact strand we would use for your necklace and send it to you.
We knot to order, so you may see the pearls before they have been strung and clasped.

The same on everything we sell
We do not outsource our buying, and we do not pick from someone else's catalog. Every pearl we sell is sourced, inspected and bought by us, from the growers, producers and dealers we have worked with for decades.
Matched and finished by our own team rather than pulled off a shelf, and still out the door within one business day.
There is no universal pearl grading standard. Ours is internal, applied the same way across everything we sell, and luster is what it turns on.
Included with purchase
Individually prepared, stating the origin, quality and characteristics of your purchase.
For presenting it and for keeping it safe between wearings.
A polishing cloth and instructions for keeping the nacre bright.

"It was one of the best gifts I could give myself! I love how they look on me and it showed up at my door on time. Will definitely be buying something else in the future !"
"High lust, nice quality."
"Overall I am very pleased with Pearl Paradise and will not order pearls anywhere else. Their quality and prices are unbeatable. The silver-blue akoya strand I ordered is beautiful and is far more round for baroque pearls than I was expecting. However, I paid additionally to have the strand be 18" long and it was 17-1/2" including the clasp when it arrived. I realize that the thread will loosen upon wearing, but given that I paid for the strand to be longer, it would have been nice to have it actually measure what I paid for. The luster is beautiful, but the overtones vary wildly. Generally one cannot see the difference while wearing them, but in incandescent lighting one can see that some have rose overtones while others have ivory and still others are neutral grey. I am overall pleased and will be keeping the strand, but next time I order I will call and specify that I need the strand to be a full 18"."
