A 17.3 mm Tahitian pearl is a size most buyers will never see in person. Pearls this large come out of French Polynesia in very small numbers, and the ones with a clean surface and this kind of luster get set aside for high jewelry long before they reach the open market.
The mounting is 18 karat white gold with 2.33 carats of diamonds worked into a shank that rises to meet the pearl. The proportions are deliberate. Nothing on this ring competes with the pearl.
