"I bought the slightly bigger 8.5mm AAA 18 inches Akoya necklace in January of 2023 after my friend introduced me to Pearl Paradise earlier by gifting me a Tahitian set to lift my spirits when I was sick a year before. And I'm so happy she did it. In the past I had hundreds of freshwater pearls of all colors, shapes and varieties that went through my hands from a nice and cheap (but no longer cheap, unfortunately everything went up 3-4 times in 4 years) pearls from a Chinese farm after traveling extensively in Asia. I used to gift them to everyone around. But after getting this amazing shiny Akoya strand my hand automatically reaches for this Akoya necklace for all occasion (totally ignoring a huge Edison pearls' necklace)-- I basically gifted out everything else I used to have before. The key though was to actually make an appointment with Hisano, who educated me on everything related to Akoya pearls, found several strands that could have worked for me and helped me to chose the right one-- by size, luster, overtone, length, etc, modeling each and explaining the difference. If you are on a fence, keep in mind that global warming kills saltwater mollusks producing Akoya and other saltwater pearls very fast, driving the prices through the roof more and more..."
