Freshwater grading

What Freshadama means on this bracelet

Our freshwater grades consider luster, shape, surface and matching together, and luster is what they turn on. Grading varies widely between sellers, so the letters alone are not worth much. Ours is an internal standard.

  • ABright luster that goes hazy at the edges. Near round to off round, 75 to 85% clean.
  • AA+Bright, with the edge of a reflection nearly sharp. Near round to round, 85 to 95% clean.
  • AAABright and sharp. Round, 95% clean or better, with excellent matching.
  • FreshadamaThis piece. Our own top freshwater classification. Round, with mirror-like luster whose reflections hold a hard edge and a surface 98 to 100% clean. Drawn from earring-grade pearls, then checked pearl by pearl.

If you are looking for a bracelet featuring the finest freshwater pearls produced today, this is the perfect choice. Our Freshadama pearls represent the top 0.01% of the annual freshwater pearl harvest, selected for their roundness, bright luster, and exceptionally clean surfaces.

The pearls measure 6.5-7.0 mm, a classic and highly wearable size with an elegant presence on the wrist. Each pearl is carefully matched to create a balanced, uniform bracelet.

Every pearl is individually knotted on twin silk to prevent rubbing and help protect the bracelet in the event of breakage. The bracelet is finished with a solid 14-karat gold clasp and safety catch for added security.

Before you decide

We can show you the pearls first

The pearls are here in our Los Angeles office. Before you buy anything, we will photograph the exact pearls we would use for your bracelet and send them to you.

We knot to order, so you may see the pearls before they have been strung and clasped.

What you will see

Photographs of the exact pearls we would use for your bracelet.

We hold the exact pearls we photograph for you for 24 hours while you decide.

We usually reply within one business day, Monday through Friday.

The same on everything we sell

What you can count on before you look at a single pearl

We do our own buying

We do not outsource our buying, and we do not pick from someone else's catalog. Every pearl we sell is sourced, inspected and bought by us, from the growers, producers and dealers we have worked with for decades.

Made in Los Angeles

Matched and finished by our own team rather than pulled off a shelf, and still out the door within one business day.

Graded to our own standard

There is no universal pearl grading standard. Ours is internal, applied the same way across everything we sell, and luster is what it turns on.

Included with purchase

It arrives ready to give, or to keep

  • Certificate of authenticity

Individually prepared, stating the origin, quality and characteristics of your purchase.

  • Presentation box and pouch

For presenting it and for keeping it safe between wearings.

  • Care kit

A polishing cloth and instructions for keeping the nacre bright.

Beautiful and bright

Nice look, only concern is
