What AAA means on this pair

Our grades consider luster, shape, surface and matching together, and luster is what they turn on. For surface we describe what the piece actually looks like rather than quoting a clean percentage. At these sizes a piece will almost always carry some marking, and a number cannot tell you whether that marking matters.

Two golden South Sea cultured pearls measuring 12.8 x 12.5 mm form the centers of these flower earrings. The golden bodycolor is natural, produced by gold-lipped Pinctada maxima and the donor tissue used at nucleation.

Twelve pear shape natural green and gold sapphires totaling 21.27 carats radiate outward as petals, mounted in 18K green gold that carries the same warm tone through the metal. Clip backs, 1.25 inches in length.
