Hanadama akoya pearls represent the highest range of quality in akoya production. Rather than a single grade, hanadama refers to a narrow spectrum of pearls distinguished by exceptional luster, surface quality, and overall balance.
We offer hanadama strands certified by both the Pearl Science Laboratory of Japan and the Gemological Institute of America. The Pearl Science Laboratory evaluates pearls specifically within the hanadama category, while GIA applies an even more stringent standard. Pearls that achieve GIA hanadama certification would meet the Pearl Science Laboratory’s requirements, though the reverse is not always true.
