Choosing an akoya bracelet
Four things decide how a bracelet fits and what it costs.
Size
Bracelets run 5.5 to 9.5 mm. 7.0 to 7.5 mm is the everyday choice and sits well on most wrists. 8.5 mm and up has real presence and wants a wrist that can carry it.
Grade
Ours run AA+, AAA and hanadama. The letters are our own standard, not an industry one, and what separates them is luster first, then surface and matching. Hanadama comes with a laboratory report.
Clasp
Chosen on the product page. Polished, fluted, matte, fishhook and small orbit in 14K, or an 18K diamond stripe or diamond lattice if you want the clasp to be part of the design. Every one has a safety catch.
Length
6.5 to 8.5 inches, strung to order. A bracelet should turn on the wrist without sliding over the hand. If you are between sizes, measure the wrist and add half an inch.

What length should I order?
Measure the wrist and add about half an inch. That gives you a bracelet that turns freely without slipping over the hand. The listed lengths run 6.5 to 8.5 inches and every bracelet is strung to order, so if you need something outside that range, ask us before you order and we will tell you what is possible.
Which clasp should I choose?
On a bracelet the clasp is visible in a way it never is on a necklace, so it is worth a moment. Polished and matte are the quiet choices. Fluted and small orbit read as jewelry in their own right. The 18K diamond stripe and diamond lattice clasps turn the clasp into part of the design, and people who wear a bracelet daily often turn it to the front. Every clasp is solid gold with a safety catch, and the diamonds are natural.
Can I have it engraved?
Yes, on our personalized bracelets. You can have a single initial, three initials, a traditional monogram or a date, each in a classic or a script face, engraved on the clasp so it sits against the wrist. Engraving is the one thing that makes a piece final sale, because it is cut for you and cannot be sold to anyone else. Anything not engraved is returnable as normal. Before we cut anything we send you a photograph of the engraving to approve, and we will photograph the actual pearls at the same time.
Can I see the exact pearls before it ships?
Ask us and we will photograph them for you. Every bracelet is strung to order from loose pearls, so what you receive is made for you rather than pulled off a shelf. Request photographs or a short video on any product page, at no cost and with no obligation to buy.
Can you match a bracelet to a necklace or earrings I am buying?
We already do. If you order a bracelet at the same time as a necklace, earrings or a pendant, we match the pearls to each other before anything is strung or set. You do not have to ask and there is no charge for it. It is the reason a set bought from us in one order looks like a set rather than pieces that happen to be the same size.
