This 8.0–8.5 mm hanadama akoya pearl set includes a matching necklace and pair of earrings, selected from the highest range of quality within this larger, more substantial size.
Hanadama is not a single grade, but a range of fine-quality akoya pearls. When a strand stands apart for its luster, surface quality and overall balance, we submit it to the Gemological Institute of America. GIA examines the pearls and issues a pearl classification report, and on qualifying akoya it notes that the pearls fall within the quality range the trade knows as hanadama.
GIA holds a stricter line than the Pearl Science Laboratory of Japan, particularly on surface. Not every strand PSL certifies as hanadama would earn that note from GIA. Every strand that does would meet PSL's requirements as well.
Available in 16-inch and 18-inch lengths. The necklace is finished with your choice of a solid 14K gold ball clasp or an 18K gold clasp set with natural diamonds. Every clasp has a safety hook.
Please note: GIA examines each strand at 18 inches, and the pearl count on the report reflects that length. If you choose 16 inches, we shorten the necklace and include the remaining pearls loose, so the pearls you receive match the report.
