Hisano Shepherd is Chief Creative Officer of Pearl Paradise and a professional pearl buyer, designer, and educator specializing in fine pearl jewelry.

She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Fine Arts in Jewelry from the State University of New York at New Paltz. After completing her graduate studies, she worked as a jewelry designer and educator, teaching metalsmithing and jewelry design at the college level while also working part time at Pearl Paradise.

Today, Shepherd oversees design, production, and pearl purchasing at Pearl Paradise. She travels internationally to source pearls in person, working directly with farms, dealers, and long-standing industry partners.

She is also the on-camera host of Pearl Paradise’s It’s Mine livestream, where she presents rare and exceptional pearls and works directly with clients to place one-of-a-kind pieces.

In 2012, she launched her personal jewelry line, little h. Her work has been worn by clients including the First Lady of the United States and Taylor Swift.
