Fijian pearls
Grown in Fiji in very small numbers and sold one pearl at a time. Each one is measured on every axis and listed individually, which is why the titles carry exact dimensions rather than a size range. No two are the same and none of them can be reordered.
Akoya and freshwater
Sold in small matched sets rather than singly, which is how most people buy them for a project. White akoya, and freshwater in white, pink and lavender, all in the pearl's own color.
Singles and pairs
A matched pair costs more than two single pearls, and it should. Matching two pearls for size, shape, surface and overtone means going through a great many to find two that agree. If you need a pair for earrings, tell us and we will pick them together.
Matching to something you own
Send us a photograph and the measurement and we will tell you honestly what we can do. We will not promise a perfect match to a pearl you already own, because we are working from a photograph rather than the pearl itself.
Before you buy
Can you match a pearl to one I already own?
We will get as close as we can and we will tell you before you buy how close that is. What we will not do is promise a perfect match to a pearl already set in a piece, because we are working from a photograph rather than the pearl itself. Send us the measurement and a clear picture in daylight and we will be straight with you about what we have.
What is the difference between a single pearl and a pair?
A single is one pearl, priced and listed on its own. A pair is two pearls already matched to each other for size, shape, surface and overtone, which is what you need for earrings. Two singles of the same size are not a pair and will not look like one once they are set.
Why do some listings give three measurements?
Because baroque and keshi pearls are not round and a single number would not tell you anything useful. Where you see three figures they are length, width and depth, measured from the pearl itself. Round and near-round pearls are listed with two.
Can you set a loose pearl for me?
Yes. We carry pendant, earring and ring settings on their own, and we can mount a pearl you buy here into any of them. If you have a setting of your own, send us a photograph and the measurement of the cup or the post and we will tell you what will fit.
Can I see the pearl before it ships?
Ask us and we will send more photographs or a short video, at no cost and with no obligation. On a loose pearl it is worth doing, because there is nothing beside it to carry the piece and you are judging it entirely on its own.
