Double-strand white South Sea and Tahitian ombré pearl necklace set
178 round pearls total · 98 Tahitian (10.4–14.8 mm) and 80 white South Sea (9.0–10.1 mm) · 39.25 in & 42 in · dual 18K white gold diamond clasps (224 diamonds, 1.68 ctw)
A matched two-strand ombré set that graduates from luminous white South Sea pearls at the top into deep Tahitian pearls below, across 178 round pearls in total. The two strands mirror each other in color progression and size graduation, so they read as one continuous composition worn together and as finished necklaces worn alone.
An ombré like this is one of the most difficult strands to build. It requires sorting through an enormous quantity of pearls to find ones that progress smoothly in both color and size, then doing it twice so the two strands match. Very few houses had the inventory to assemble a piece like this, and Assael was one of them.
One strand measures approximately 39.25 inches, the other approximately 42 inches, for layered or single wear. Each is finished with an 18K white gold clasp set with 112 natural diamonds (0.84 ctw per clasp, 1.68 ctw combined).
A museum-caliber set, matched over years and impossible to recreate. One of a kind.
