Who says all pearls are white? These dark, multi-hued freshwater pearls are called black, but as you can see, every strand is unique and every dark-colored pearl has a subtle overtone gives the strand a unique, one-of-a-kind look.

This stylish 16-inch necklace is composed of fine quality 6.5-7.0 mm black freshwater pearls. The necklace is strung to 16 inches, which falls around the base of the neck. On a petite woman it will hang loosely around the neck falling at the collarbone. On a plus size woman, it may wear more like a choker.

Freshwater pearls do not naturally occur in black, so these pearls have been treated with permanent organic dye to achieve their colors. Each pearl is individually knotted on twin silk and finished with a solid 14-karat gold clasp.
