Pearl Pendants

Every pearl pendant we make, across all four pearl types. A pendant is one pearl with nothing beside it, which makes it the cheapest way into any pearl type and the place where quality shows most. Every one comes on a real gold chain. Filter by type, color and size below.

Which pearl should you buy?

Four types, four different jobs. Nothing here is better than anything else.

Freshwater

The most size for the money, and the only pearl that comes in natural pink, peach and lavender. An 11 mm freshwater pendant costs a fraction of the same size in any saltwater pearl.

Akoya

The classic white pendant with the sharpest luster of any pearl. Usually 6 to 9.5 mm. Small, precise, and the right answer when the pendant has to work with a suit or a wedding dress.

Tahitian

Dark natural color against skin, which makes a Tahitian pendant read larger than its millimeters. The cheapest genuine way into Tahitian, and the overtone is the whole point.

South Sea

The largest pearls anyone cultures, in white or natural gold. A pendant is how most people start with South Sea, because it puts one excellent pearl where it will be seen for a fraction of what a strand costs.

Before you buy

Does the pendant come with a chain?

Yes, a solid gold chain at no extra cost, in the same karat as the setting. Every stocked pendant comes on a 16 to 18 inch adjustable chain, so it can be worn short at the base of the neck or long, or anywhere between. It is real gold, not a plated chain you will want to replace within a year. Shimmer and rope chains are offered as upgrades on the product page, and on a larger pearl a heavier chain often looks more balanced. If you need the chain longer or shorter than the standard, tell us before you order and we will make it to the length you want. A few one-of-a-kind pieces vary, and their product pages say so.

Are all these colors natural?

Yes. Freshwater comes naturally in white, pink, peach and lavender. Tahitian grows dark on its own. South Sea comes in white and natural gold, and we do not sell treated golden South Sea. Every color on this page is the pearl's own.

White gold or yellow gold?

White gold keeps a white or dark pearl cool and lets a green or rose overtone come forward. Yellow gold warms everything and is the natural partner for a golden South Sea pearl. If you are buying a gift and cannot ask, white gold is the safer default on white and dark pearls.

Can I see the exact pearl before it ships?

Ask us and we will photograph it. A pendant is one pearl with nothing beside it, so there is nowhere for a weak pearl to hide and every reason to look properly first. Photographs and video are free, with no obligation to buy.

Can you match a pendant to earrings or a necklace I am buying?

We already do. If you order a pendant at the same time as earrings, a necklace or a bracelet, we match the pearls to each other before anything is set. You do not have to ask and there is no charge for it.

Still deciding?

Our specialists will show you pearls on camera and talk you through what you are looking at. Most appointments run about twenty minutes.
