Every Mother Counts (EMC)
"Every Mother Count's mission is to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere."
Access to quality, respectful, and equitable maternity care can prevent up to 90% of maternal deaths. Christy Turlington Burns, the founder of Every Mother Counts, created the organization to raise awareness and educate the public on the journey of maternal care, including the struggles, stories, and tragedies of motherhood. Their organization has invested more than $17 million through grants that support 13 countries. Their push to improve maternity care has impacted more than one million people in the world. Good+ Foundation
Founded by Jessica Seinfeld, Good+ Foundation partners with 80 anti-poverty programs all around the country to work to "dismantle multi-generational poverty by pairing tangible goods with innovative services for low-income mothers, fathers, and caregivers." In just 20 years, Good+ has donated over $60 million in children's items, such as diapers, strollers, and baby clothing, to programs nationwide. Women In Need (WIN)
Founded in 1983- WIN began as a shelter for four homeless women and their children. WIN housed 9,200 homeless people, 5,100 of them being children, in just last year alone. From four women to over 9,000 people- WIN strives to break the cycle of homelessness through providing transitional shelters and permanent housing, as well as services and programs to support long-term housing stability. Their mission is "to transform the lives of New York City homeless women and their children by providing safe housing, critical services, and the ground-breaking programs they need to succeed on their own- so the women can regain their independence and their children can look forward to a brighter future."
