"I actually bought a strand of aaa akoyas from a different vendor to compare to these freshadamas. These were for a very special occasion so could justify the added cost of akoyas if they were significantly better. To my untrained eye, I could barely tell the difference! "We were expecting pretty. We weren't expecting jaw-dropping. These pearls are jaw dropping. The play of COLOR over the faces of the pearls - this luminous play of pink and green - they are utterly stunning. Erin selected an extraordinary strand for us. The surface quality is virtually pristine, with a luster that is mirror-sharp. To my eyes, in the whole strand I can find only one flaw on one pearl. The pearls are very slightly off-round. If you prefer the perfect spheres of akoya pearls, you may consider this an issue, but if you appreciate natural pearls - lambent, luminous, with a luster that is bone-deep - these extraordinary freshadama pearls are something very special. They radiate light. They are radiant."
