This is another one of the super-Tahitian strands we slowly began introducing last year. If you're a Pearl-Guide.com member or follow us on Instagram, you might have seen some of the photos. The strand is all about rare and exotic colors! You can see the perfect natural-color chocolate, the intense cherries and aubergines that more than straddle the fence from overtone to body color. We have only made six of these strands since introducing them more than a year ago, and we only intend to release them to VIPs. They are THAT special.

In the 1940s, after the second World War, GIs stationed in Japan discovered the beauty of cultured Akoya pearls. They bought and brought home thousands of strands of pearls that almost all had one thing in common: They were graduated. A strand of pearls of decent size would have been financially unattainable for most, so Japanese pearl dealers created strands that graduated from small pearls in the 3 mm range on the ends, to a center pearl just larger than 7 mm. This strand of pearls was described by its weight in momme - a Japanese unit of measurement. It was called the 3.5 momme strand. This is the strand of pearls that started it all. It's 18-inches long and the pearls are of extra fine, hanadama quality.

VIP-1ofkind-14 | 4.0 - 5.0mm Golden Akoya Keshi Double Strand Bracelet | VIP Lot 6519 (Sold Out)
It's not everyday you see a champagne, akoya Keshi bracelet. The term "Keshi" was initially used to refer to natural seed pearls found when harvesting the Japanese Akoya oysters. These natural pearls resembled poppy seeds, which in Japanese is called 'keshi' thus the name. This beautiful golden bracelet came from a small boutique farmer who knows Hisano likes tiny pearls.
We were a little short of matching keshi pearls to make a necklace so we decided to create a one-of-a-kind bracelet instead.

This piece of jewelry features a very important pearl because of its large 14.3 by 16.7 mm size, perfect drop shape, smooth surface, sharp luster, and iridescent green and rose overtones. HUGE! HUGE!
Less than 0.01% of the world’s cultured pearls are naturally this color.
The juxtaposition of the three sparkling diamonds perfectly complement the golden pearl; these are VS1-G rated diamonds (a grade typically reserved for diamond solitaire jewelry) subtle but elegantly noticeable!

In March, while sorting loose rounds, Hisano found this massive metallic Edison was an amazing overtone that reflects blues and roses everywhere you look. In my opinion, this could only be matched with a solitaire diamond that screams brilliance so we paired it with a .39 ctw G/VS1 solitaire that makes the whole piece POP!
This is one HUGE pearl pendant :)
