About the Assael Collection

For more than 80 years, Assael has been one of America's most important pearl houses, known for supplying exceptional pearls to leading jewelers and collectors. Many pieces in this collection were matched and assembled over decades, with pearls of a quality and scale that are increasingly difficult to source today.

Pearl Paradise was entrusted with this finite collection as these pieces moved out of the traditional retail channel. They are now offered directly to clients, without passing through the customary retail layer.

A large-format Tahitian strand reaching 17.1 mm, at the very top of the size range for round Tahitian pearls. Twenty-seven perfectly round pearls totaling 40.6 momme, in a deep, dramatic palette of charcoal and peacock with silvery overtones. Dark color this saturated, on round pearls this large, is among the rarest combinations Tahiti produces.

Each pearl was selected and matched for size, color balance, and surface quality, giving the strand a commanding presence and refined symmetry. Matching at this level is the work that built Assael's reputation.

The necklace is finished at approximately 18.25 inches with a platinum diamond ball clasp set with 72 natural diamonds totaling 6.39 carats, a dramatic focal point in keeping with the scale of the pearls.
